Inhaca Island Fly fishing Adventures ...

Linecasters have guided many successful fly fishing trips to Inhaca, and hold all the local way points on hand-held GPS’s.  We use the Gone Fishin’ chartering company, who have two fully equipped 18 ft ski boats.  The boats are in good nick with twin motors.  Two to three anglers are accommodated per boat.  A Linecasters guide will have back-up equipment and a wide range of flies if needed.

Inhaca Island

Inhaca Island is esteemed for its tremendous reefs which fall well within fly fishing range.  We target large queenfish, golden kingfish, giant kingfish, king and queen mackerel, sailfish, cobia, yellowfin tuna, kawa kawa, indian mirrorfish and more.  Most of this blue water fishing is done from the boat. The fishing around these islands can be exceptionally productive and exciting with triple hookups a daily occurrence.

Linecasters guide Fred Steynberg will advise clients on tackle and equipment and arrange events according to their needs.  Fred has spent many seasons successfully guiding and fishing around Inhaca Island and has extensive knowledge of the fishing in the area.

Inhaca Island

A typical day fly fishing at Inhaca Island starts at dawn, we break for lunch and a siesta at midday and return to the water around three in the afternoon.  This insures that we don’t spend time flogging the water during the heat of the day when fishing is at its worst.  On days when longer excursions are undertaken lunch packs will be provided.

If clients feel the need to try and hook a sailfish on fly, the boat may use more than 150L of fuel a day.  The client will be liable for this @ R12.00 per liter.

Linecasters clients will be booked into the comfortable Inhaca Lodge which has a 4 star rating.  The lodge has air-conditioned chalets with en-suite bathrooms situated amongst coconut palms in a tropical setting.  The lodge caters to the enthusiastic appetite of guests with fresh seafood daily.
